HORN ACCOUTREMENTS

Please note the following horn products are made from a natural product and will vary in coloration. Also when heated to extremes will go back to its natural shape. These pieces should not be used in boiling water or a modern dishwasher.

Round & Square Horn Plates
With a turnup edge, almost like a very shallow bowls. Smaller sizes are approximately 5 inches across and the larger square or round are  about 7 inches.

Needle Cases
These needle cases will be an elegant addition to your needlework basket or housewife. Each is 4 1/4" long when the cap is in place and will accommodate needles over 2 inches long. The lid screws securely in place, with a hole drilled thru that the holder can be placed on a chatelaine.

For your sewing kits & housewives. This horn piece was one of the most common horn implements made during the height of Horn Guild of 18th Century London. A thread puller with an ear wax spoon. Pinned with copper this horn tool is hinged like a Swiss Army knife, one swing out tool is for pulling the precious threads out of old or discarded clothing and the little spoon tool is for collecting ear wax to wax the thread with (Are you all making the same face I am, I do not recommend actually using this to clean your ears out. Johnson & Johnson makes a wonderful Q-tip.)
